For making loom bands wild headband project you’ll need:

  • 63 brown bands
  • 108 green bands
  • 1 clip
  • 1 pencil

Setting up your loom to make loom bands wild head band!

Set up your loom in the STAGGERED configuration, on diagram 1, bands 4.7 and 10 are wrapped around their pegs three times.Place bands like this 12 times, to make 12 leaves for your headband.loom bands wild head band setting up loom

Step 1:

Turn your loom so the arrow is facing towards you.With this design you’re going to start by making leaves. So, putting your hook inside green band 10, push it back , catch the bottom pair of green bands and loop them diagonally to the upper central peg.loom bands wild head band step 1

Step 2:

Go inside green band 7, push it back, catch the bottom pair of green bands and loop them forward.loom bands wild head band step 2

Step 3:

Now, go inside green band 4, push it back, catch the bottom pair of green bands and loop them diagonally to the upper central peg.loom bands wild head band step 3

Step 4:

Put your hook inside the peg  you just ended on, reach down, catch the bottom brown band and loop it forward.loom bands wild head band step 4

Step 5:

Put your pen/pencil through the brown band ends and slide them off the peg, pulling the green bands with them, and onto your pen/pencil for storage.loom bands wild head band step 5

Step 6:

Place bands 1-10 and repeat steps 1-5 a further 11 times, so you have a total of 12 leaves stored on your pen/pencil.loom bands wild head band step 6

Step 7:

Now, turn your loom and use diagram 2 to place your next lot of brown bands. Stretch one of your ‘leaves’off the storage pen/pencil and onto each of the points marked on the diagram. You should still have six left.

Step 8:

You’re now ready to start looping the first half of your chain. Making sure your loom arrow is facing you, put your hook inside the peg with brown band 26 around it, push it back, catch the bottom brown band and loop it diagonally to the upper left-hand side.

Step 9:

Keep on hooking and looping all the brown bands in the chain in a zigzag pattern, until you reach the end of the loom. Make sure you always hook the bottom band from inside the peg.loom bands wild head band step 9

Step 10:

Now, slide your last band ends off the last peg and onto your hook. Keeping it on your hook, pull the whole thing off the loom and put it to one side.loom bands wild head band step 10

Step 11:

Now, place the remaining 25  brown bands on the loom, as in diagram 2, making sure the loom arrow is facing away from you. Place your remaining six’leaves’as before ; however, this time, stretch both the band ends off the hook and onto the peg where band 26 would have been.loom bands wild head band step 11

Step 12:

You’re now ready to start looping the first half of your chain. Making sure your loom arrow is facing you, put your hook inside the
peg with brown band 26 around it, push it back, catch the bottom brown band and loop it diagonally to the upper left-hand side.

Step 13:

Keep on hooking and looping all the brown bands in the chain in a zigzag pattern, until you reach the end of the loom. Make sure you always hook the bottom band from inside the peg.loom bands wild head band step 13

Step 14:

Now, slide the band ends off  the last peg and onto your hook. Attach them together with a hook, then pull the whole thing off the loom. Slide the brown band at the other end of the chain into the dip as  well to complete your wild headband!
