For making loom bands starfish project you’ll need:
- 1 black band
- 2 blue bands
- 48 orange bands
Setting up your loom to make loom bands starfish!
Setting up your loom! Set up your loom in the SQUARED configuration. Before placing orange band 44, individually wrap two blue bands around your hook four times-Then, catch the orange band on the end of your hook and slide the blue bands off the hook and onto the orange band. Place between the pegs as normal, making sure to push the blue bands to either side of the loom. These are the eyes.
Step 1:
Turn your loom so the arrow is facing towards you. You’re going to start by making the limbs. To do this, put you hook inside orange band 48, reach around, catch the bottom pair of bands and loop them towards you.
Step 2:
Hook and loop the next two pairs of bands towards you, making sure you always go inside the other bands on the peg and only (catch the bottom pair of bands each time.
Step 3:
Go to orange band 41 and repeat steps 1-2 on the left-hand side.
Step 4:
Now, go to orange band 34, PUSH it back, catch the bottom pair of bands and loop them forward.
Step 5:
Hook and loop the next two pairs of bands forward too.
Step 6:
Repeat steps 4-5 on the right-hand side, starting with orange band 27.
Step 7:
You’re now ready to make the body. Put your hook inside orange band 20, catch the first pair of orange bands and loop them diagonally to the left-hand side.
Step 8:
Put your hook in the peg you just looped to, reach down inside, catch the bottom pair of orange bands and loop them diagonally to the central row.
Step 9:
Go back to orange band 20 and repeat steps 7-8 on the right-hand side.
Step 10:
Once more, go back to orange band 20, PUSH it back, catch the bottom pair of orange bands and loop them forward.
Step 11:
You now have a straight run of four pairs of orange bands to hook and loop. Make sure you always go inside the other bands on the peg to only catch the bottom pair of bands each time.
Step 12:
Put your hook inside the peg you just looped to, catch the bottom black band and loop it forward, then pull the bottom of the band up through itself to create a slipknot.
Step 13:
Pull all your bands off the loom your starfish is ready!
