How To Make Loom Bands Shark

For making loom bands shark you’ll need:

  • 1 blue band
  • 2 white bands
  • 2 black bands
  • 30 brown bands

Setting up your loom to make loom bands shark!

Set up your loom in the staggered configuration. Before placing grey band 61, take a black band and wrap it around your hook four times. Now, catch the grey band on the end of your hook and slide the black band off the hook and onto the band.

Step 1:

Turn your loom so the arrow is facing towards you. You’re going to start by making the fin. To do this, put your hook inside grey band 70, catch the bottom pair of grey bands and loop them forward.

Step 2:

Put your hook inside the peg you just looped to, catch the first pair of bands and loop them diagonally to the right.

Step 3:

Go back to the peg you just looped from, put your hook Inside, catch the bottom pair of bands and loop them diagonally to the left.

Step 4:

Put your hook through the peg on the right, slide the band ends off and onto your hook.

Step 5:

Now, keeping those bands on your hook, put your hook through the peg you looped to on the left-hand side and slide those band ends off their peg onto it, before pulling the bands off the loom.

Step 6:

Now, stretch one pair of band ends onto the eighth peg on the left-hand side, and one pair onto the ninth. Your fin is now in place.

Step 7:

You’re now ready to make the body. Put your hook inside band 48, PUSH it back, catch the bottom pair of bands and loop them forward.

Step 8:

The chain now forks. Put your hook inside this peg, catch the middle pair of bands and loop them diagonally to the left-hand side.

Step 9:

Hook and loop the next seven pairs of bands in the chain forward. Note that the seventh pair will be hooked as normal, but looped diagonally to the central row.

Step 10:

Go back to where the chain forked, put your hook inside, catch the bottom pair of bands and loop them forward.

Step 11:

Put your hook in the peg you just looped to and loop the top pair of bands to the right-hand side.

Step 12:

Continue to hook and loop the next five pairs of grey bands in the same way. Note that the fifth pair will be hooked as normal, but looped diagonally to the central row.

Step 13:

Go back to the fifth peg up in the central row, put your hook inside, catch the bottom pair of bands and loop them forward.

Step 14:

You’ve now got six pairs of  bands to hook and loop.

Step 15:

Put your hook in the peg you Just looped to, catch the first pair of bands and loop them diagonally to the lower left-hand side.

Step 16:

Hook and loop the next two pairs of bands. The first pair will be looped forward, the second looped diagonally back to their original peg.

Step 17:

Repeat steps 15-16 on the right-hand side.

Step 18:

Put your hook in the peg you just looped to reach down inside, catch the bottom grey band and loop it forward. Using your hook, pull the bottom of the band up through itself to create a slipknot.

Step 19:

Pull all your bands off the loom. To finish, wrap the loose end of the slipknot around the tail twice.
