For this you’ll need:
- 7 white bands
- 30 black bands
- 1 hair clip
Setting up your loom!
Set up your loom in the SQUARED configuration, making sure the arrow is facing away from you, then place the bands in the order shown in the diagram.
Turn your loom so the arrow is facing towards you. You’re going to be looping the bands in reverse order to how they were placed. So, putting your hook inside black band 37, push back the top black band, hook the bottom pair of black bands and loop them forward.
Continue hooking and looping the next six pairs of black bands forward, each time making sure you take from inside the peg.
When you get to the next pair, which are white, you’re going to hook them as normal from inside the peg, but this time loop them directly to the right-hand side, to the central row.
Now, repeat steps 1-3 on the right-hand side, starting at band 20.
Keeping you finger on the central peg you just finished on to stop the last white band coming off the loom, pull the looped black band chain off the loom.
Stretch both loops of the first black band over that central peg.
Repeat steps 5-6 on the left-hand side. Both sides of your bow are now formed.
Now, go to the first used peg in the central row, where white band 3 is. Put your hook inside, PUSH back the top band, catch the bottom white band and loop it forward.
Put your hook inside the peg you just looped to, reach down, catch the very bottom white band and loop it forward.
Now, slide both ends of the last band onto your hook and pull the rest of the bands off the loom.
To finish, slide one end of your hairclip through the band ends on your hook, then remove your hook.
